The following reports are available

Accident: A collision involving one or more vehicles. To obtain a copy of an accident report, you may request it through the mail or in person at our office located at 321 W. Panola St. You must provide a name of a person involved in the accident, the location of the accident or the date of the accident. Because of changes in the way Carthage Police Department reports accidents to TXDOT, all accident reports will require 5 business days to process and be made available for sale to the public. There is a $6.00 fee for the accident report if requested through the mail or if picked up in person. Call 903.693.3866 for further assistance.

Offense: An offense is considered any of the following: Breaking into a vehicle, burglary, identity theft, lost property, assault, auto theft, missing persons, etc. To Obtain a copy of an offense report, you may request it through the mail or in person at our office located at 321 W. Panola St. You will need the name of the person who requested Police assistance, date of the offense and the location where the offense occurred. There is a fee of $6.00 per report. We cannot release information about the offense over the telephone. Only the first page is available for release.

Arrest: To obtain a copy of an arrest report, you may request it through the mail or in person at our office located at 321 West Panola St. You will need the name of the person arrested, date of birth, sex, race and the date of the arrest. Some restrictions do apply to the release of the arrest report. We cannot release information about the arrest report over the telephone. Only the first page is available for release.

Open Records: To obtain specialized information from records being maintained by this Department, submit a written request. You may file the request in person or mail it to Open Records Unit, P.O. Where can I obtain a letter stating I do not have a criminal record within the City of Carthage? The Records Section can provide a Clearance Letter from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.. You will need identification, such as a Driver's License.

How much does a report cost? An Accident report costs $6.00 whether you come in person to our location or request it by mail.
