The City of Carthage has been selected as one of three finalists for a 2022 Texas Municipal League Municipal Excellence Award for its entry— College View All Ages All Abilities Park— in the Public Works category for cities under 25,000.
The City fundraised $770,000 to develop College View Park. This unique park is all-inclusive and intergenerational, and promotes participation, healthy activity, and social interaction. It is the only one of its kind within 60 miles and serves as the sole National Demonstration Site for a park of its kind in East Texas.
